My Art Store

I’m just writing this to let you know I’ve started a new section on this website for my artwork. It is right here. It’s a gallery of art for sale that will be completely random; a collection of various paintings, drawings, etc. I will be adding to it whenever I feel like it, and the prices for different pieces will vary. It all depends on what I feel in my heart lol, but I think the minimum for each piece will be $100 (USD).

This is how it will work if you are interested in anything: the price for each item will be listed with the title. If you see something you want, e-mail me (at larrysingleton92@gmail.com) with the title of the artwork as the subject line and your shipping info in the message, etc. Then when I respond to you and confirm the piece you chose is available, you can make a payment here. When the payment has gone through, I will ship the artwork to wherever you told me. You will also have to pay for shipping unfortunately, but hopefully I can figure out an affordable option that makes sense for you. Whenever something is sold, I will not put “SOLD OUT,” or anything like that. I will simply remove it from the page so that it’s easier to see whatever is still available: anything that is still up on the page.

You might be wondering to yourself, “Why is this shit for sale? Who does this guy think he is?” I’m nobody, haha. I don’t think I am anything special or important. I’m just another artist on the internet like everyone else. But I just thought it would be cool to give people another option to support me and my work if they would like to do so, a way that benefits them beyond just buying a book or donating to my Paypal.

I am primarily a writer, but the lame thing about that is: everyone’s copy of a book is pretty much the same. I don’t sell autographed copies of my books, but if I did: even that wouldn’t be exclusive either, because every autograph is the same. And similarly, I’ve never really liked the idea of “merch,” that most artists seem to push on people, with t-shirts or tote bags or other unnecessary items that feel very wasteful to me. I get that it’s a way of getting support from people, but it seems incredibly wasteful to sell hats, wallets, and shirts to people. Who the fuck needs another wallet? This is way cooler than merch or an autographed copy of a book. With a painting or drawing, whoever buys it will be the only person in the entire world who has it, which is very cool to me. Especially as we head further into this digital landscape, where people can just put things on their Kindles and nothing means anything anymore and everything feels more boring than ever, it is more important now to have stuff in the physical realm. I don’t understand how that NFT shit works, nor do I want to, and I guess this is my way of doing something to combat that in some small way.

Of course, I’m not dumb and I know that if you were really a fan of my stuff you could always download a picture of the artwork I have posted on the art page, have it printed at your local Wal-Mart, and display it where you want. Anyone could easily do that, and you can feel free to do that if you want. But it will never be as cool as actually having the real handmade artwork for your ownership. Also: each artwork will come with an official wax seal stamp thing at the back that proves it was mine and not a reprint.

So to sum up: artwork is the best way to have something by me that no one else does, it will be personal to you, and it will be supporting me/my work if you feel like doing so. Buying my books is one thing, but this is a completely different and cooler way of supporting me. (BTW there is also the issue of what will happen if I become something important someday: you will get to say that you own an original Larry Singleton work of art that no one else does. Who knows, maybe it will be worth more someday and you can resell it for 90 million dollars. Who knows what will happen? Haha😂😂😂).
